The Colorado Department of Education has awarded the Cotopaxi School a prestigeous Award of Distinction for ranking in the top 5 percent of schools in the state.
The "Accredtied with Distinction" award, presented last week, is based on student performance in such areas as academic achievement, academic growth, reducing academic gaps, as well as college and workforce rediness. Out of 178 school districts in the state, Cotopaxi ranked in the top 19. The Cotopaxi school encompases all grade levels at one site and has 215 students.
